Project Overview

1-800-THE-VOID is a narrative short film that explores themes of isolation, vulnerability, and human connection through a surreal and emotionally grounded lens. The project blends strong visual storytelling with intimate performances to create a space that feels both unsettling and deeply human.

my role

Producer
(also involved in creative development and on-set coordination)

As producer, I led the project from early development through post-production, overseeing logistics, budgeting, scheduling, and crew coordination. This was my first time producing with a full budget, and it required balancing creative ambition with practical problem-solving across a multi-day shoot.

Process & Challenges

Producing 1-800-THE-VOID meant navigating real-world constraints while protecting the emotional core of the story. Challenges included crewing a seven-day shoot across multiple locations, adapting the script when casting limitations arose, and finding creative solutions for production design, most notably transforming a studio space into the film’s void environment.

Through collaboration with the director and crew, we sourced full camera and G&E sponsorships, problem-solved on set, and maintained a supportive, communicative environment for cast and crew.

Outcome

The finished film is something I’m incredibly proud of, both visually and emotionally. The project strengthened my skills as a producer, reinforced the importance of clear communication and collaboration, and deepened my love for creating story-driven work on set.
